Do I still owe New York taxes if I move to Palm Beach Gardens?
It depends on your income and your ties to New York. New York taxes residents on all income and nonresidents on New York-source income, such as rental property or a business operated there. What is the Florida homestead exemption, and when do I apply?
Florida homeowners who make a property their permanent residence may qualify for a homestead exemption, which reduces taxable value and limits how fast the assessed value can rise. The application deadline is March 1 for that tax year. We can point you to the right county office.
